About Discount Tires

Founded in 1970, Discount Tires has two locations in Muskogee, OK for automotive repair, tire sales, and custom wheels. We've spent the last years providing quality automotive service and products to satisfied customers. Discount Tires has gone through a lot of changes and growth over the years.

Wiseman Bros., Inc. began operation in 1970 as a proprietorship owned by Bill, Jeri, and Tom Wiseman. They started with a three-bay store in downtown Muskogee, OK.

A York Street barbershop was remodeled to include two service bays for a second store and Don, Jim, and Bob Wiseman were added to the team in 1973. Another store, with four bays, was opened in McAlester, OK in 1974 and Don Wiseman managed it until it was sold in 1980.

In 1978, a new, four-bay York Street store was built behind the existing building, which was then torn down and made into a parking lot. An additional six-bay store was built on York Street 10 years later as a tire shop, managed by Bob Wiseman, leaving the other store for muffler work, brake work, front-end work, and truck accessories, under the management of Jim Wiseman.

In 1989, the downtown store was left vacant with the opening of a 12-bay store on Highway 69. It was managed by Tom Wiseman and, then later, Don Wiseman. Two more bays were added in 1995 to what is now our corporate headquarters as well as a complete tire and service center.

The York St. store – our East location – went through another adjustment in 1999 when five more bays were added to the tire shop, converted it to a tire and service center and allowing for the closing of the old service center on York St.

Our family business suffered losses with the death of Bill Wiseman in 2006 and Jeri Wiseman in 2016. Two great leaders left us and the loss was felt by all who knew them.

The most recent structural change came in 2010 when a bay to do large truck tires was added on Highway 69, our West location.
